"My art is inspired by nature and I delight in zooming in to produce dramatic, intense and sometimes abstracted interpretations of normal mundane subjects - which we all tend to take for granted. I push boundaries, experiment and create, refusing to be chained to one particular medium or genre."
Anna Galea, B.A., M.A. (Melit.), is an award-winning artist based in Malta and Dubai, best known for her exceptionally large still-life paintings and abstractions.
Now an established artist, Anna has exhibited her works extensively - in Malta, Paris, Rome, Milan, Fabriano, Brussels, Tunis, Australia, Columbia, Georgia, Mauritius, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, New York and Washington DC.
Anna’s favorite painting medium is watercolour which she applies boldly and intensely in large scale works. Her watercolor work has in fact been honored as masterful in Europe and the United States, as well as in the Middle East. She was a featured Masterclass watercolor demonstrator at the International Watercolor Society Convention of 2016 in Fabriano, Italy, and again in Dubai in 2018. She was also invited to represent Malta at the International Women’s Art Expo - 100 Women Artists from 100 Countries - in Dubai (2019 and 2020).
Anna’s paintings have been published by the highly acclaimed International Artist publishers of the USA, in books, book covers, calendars, telephone cards and other publications. Her works can be found in various private collections of art connoisseurs, in palaces, museums, banks and offices.
