The inner tension of the heart is carved into the two-dimensionality of the painting: the essence of the friction of the soul with the world and oneself. Lately, Arturo is partially abandoning figurative work and beginning to experiment with bas-reliefs and digital media.
Arturo Javier Reyes Medina is a Spanish artist from Granada (Andalusia) who currently lives and works in Biel / Bienne (Switzerland). An eclectic multi-disciplinary artist, he simultaneously expresses himself in figurative and abstractive works, in a variety of media: painting, sculpture, photography, digital and video art. Arturo holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Granada. He continued his education in the Netherlands with Erasmus Hogeschool Rotterdam Omstreken, Erasmus University Rotterdam and at the Faculty of Arts: Academie voor Beeldemde Vorming, Catholic University of Tilburg. He earned a Master's in Pedagogy and the first phase of Ph.D. studies (Teaching Period) at the University of Granada.
