Asta Caplan is a Finnish-born visual artist living and working in Germany. Her work concentrates on the search and study of beauty: The works are spaces for contemplation allowing time for a closer look deeper inwards. Her search of beauty is also a search for the human sense of belonging to the world.
Asta Caplan's childhood in a family of professional artists led to an early introduction to an extensive selection of techniques: painting, drawing, print-making, ceramic sculpture and others.
Asta holds a Master of Fine Arts degree (2011) from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts, Painting department, Helsinki Finland and has been actively exhibiting in group shows since 1998 with her first solo shown in 2004.
