"I have pursued a serious study of sculpture, painting, and drawing from my late 30's onwards, after initially traveling to Europe, then South America, South Africa, Canada, New Zealand, Russia, and Turkey. I am inspired by nature and different cultures encountered during my travels."

Betty's art evolves around nature and the human figure generally capturing peaceful, harmonious interpretations. In her 3D work there is an emphasis on curving tactile formations that are defined with undercutting and spatial awareness leading to greater value variability. Drawings take on a detailed and textural approach. Media includes watercolor, pen & ink, Carving stone & wood, oxy welding sheet steel and working wax for bronze castings.
