Burkhard P. Bierschenck spent part of his youth in the Middle and Far East, including Afghanistan and Indonesia. From 1979, he worked as an editor for various specialist and special interest magazines, including the art magazine "Expertise", which led to numerous art trips to the USA, Japan, China, Taiwan and Spain as well as other European countries.
This was followed by professional positions as editor-in-chief, editorial director, publishing manager and managing director at various German publishers and international publishing groups. In 1995, Bierschenck had his first exhibitions in private rooms and from 2004 in publishing houses. At the same time came also, the first sales of drawings and lithographs to private collectors. Burkhard P. Bierschenck has participated in group exhibitions and had solo shows in rapid succession in Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Portugal, Japan and the USA. He is a member of the PEN center for German-speaking authors abroad. Today, Burkhard P. Bierschenck's work belongs to public and private art collections.
