"Images should be more than an eye-catcher, they should captivate the viewer and make you think. There is an inseparable connection between thinking, feeling and visual perception."

Vergänglichkeit - Digital photograph / HD Metal print 18,5x40 cm or 35 x 75 cm

German Artist, Anja Morisse creates work with digital media that investigates formal and conceptual elements of seeing. Her published book, "Bremen - Living in and with a city", Verlag Hauschild, Bremen presents a collection of her unique artworks.

"I have two passions in photography: realistic photography like reports, portrait, people, documentaries, and industry. In recent years, I have been drawn to fine art photography with my role models being the Expressionists, Surrealists and Mannerists. This form of presentation gives the opportunity, similar to a report, to deal with things and present them in picture form. Images should more than an eye-catcher they should captivate the viewer and make them think. There is an inseparable connection between thinking, feeling and visual perception."

"Above all, I want to show how the simple, often depressing architecture on photos can be changed, with image editing, in an imaginative and exciting way. So one should come from the functional to the pure fantasy motive, through which one can be inspired variously."

Daria Martinoni

“The relation between what we see and what we know is never settled. Each evening we see the sun set. We know that the earth is turning away from it. Yet the knowledge, the explanation, never quite fits the sight.” ― John Berger, Ways of Seeing

Drawn By The Light - Photograph on archive paper 117 x 78 cm

"I am a non-professional photographer working and living in Zurich, Switzerland. As a Geographer, I use photography to playfully (de-)construct urban spaces, to spatially re-stage urban contexts, and to play with our perception of space and reality.

I exploit the geometry of the built urban environment, and I play with perspectives and angles to create a sense of direction and an impression of depth. I use the design elements of reproduction, reiteration and repetition - created by experimenting with long shutter speeds and several zoom settings or camera positions in one exposure - to “compress space” and remove all context and sense of scale. The thus created compositions become like another world where subjects merge and transform to become new geometric structures. This procedure creates a moment of irritation, but also conveys a sense of calmness in the chaos, and transfers the scene into a transitional world somewhere between reality and dream.

I transform common scenes into geometric, abstract dimensions that produce new and unexpected perspectives. With this work, I hope to evoke ideas around vantage point, perception, and imagination, and to question our making of the world through experience and knowledge."

Daria Martinoni has been awarded Honorable Mentions in both the 2018 and 2019 International Photography Awards (IPA @photoawards, @iphotoawards), in the 2019 IPA “OneShot: Street Photography” Awards (@photoawards, @iphotoawards), in the 2019 Budapest International Foto Awards (BIFA, @budapestfotoawards, @ifotoawards), in the 2019 Tokyo International Foto Awards (TIFA, @ifotoawards), and in the 2019 Annual Photography Awards (APA, @annualphotographyawards).

She was accepted to the photoSCHWEIZ 19 and the photoZURICH 20 (www.photo-schweiz.ch), which is the largest photography exhibition in Switzerland, and to the XIIth edition of the Florence Biennale of Art+Design (www.florencebiennale.org, @FLRbiennale, @florencebiennale)

Nadi Adatepe

"My art is the story of everything I have been through in life, and how I perceive everything that has happened, and events surrounding me. Through my work, I portray personal experiences and perceptions."

Africa In My Window - Gazelle - Digital media 40 x 50 cm

Born in Istanbul in 1966 and living in Norway since 1990, Nadi Adatepe is a self-taught digital artist, based in Oslo. He has been developing his skills primarily creating digital art with fractal software for several years. Adatepe's art is the story of everything he has been through in life and how he perceives these experiences as well as events surrounding him.

His journey to become a visual artist is a result of unsuccessful attempts to express himself through poetry writing and music composing. His interest in creating art from fractals springs from his belief that nothing exists in the way we perceive it and everything which exists, or existence itself can be confirmed based on the repetition of the smallest particles, simples shapes, fractals. This mindset, which is the driving force behind his visual art has been crucial to the content and context of his work.

For Adatepe, the most important thing is to think outside the box, to explore the boundaries of the generally accepted and those that fall outside. In his own words,  "It's all about trying to describe things, in a way we haven't faced before!"

Adatepe has developed a technique he calls “mutual conception”, based on fractal art in the last two years, after experimenting with a variety of styles. His biggest passion is offering people a new way of looking at things but that doesn't mean that the way he perceives them is the same as others. That's not the point for him either. Instead, he aims for the work to speak to each viewer individually and give a personal experience and interpretation; "because all people are unique it will be natural that what others see is different, especially for those who have an open mind and are curious about new ideas..."

“Nadi Adatepe's digital works are very well balanced and unique. They reveal a distinctive style and the artist employs a technique he developed over the years using fractal software. Although abstract, the pieces have deep content attached to them which the artist leaves open to each viewer's personal interpretation. Adatepe's goal is to bring to focus the relativity of attaching meaning and carry through a message of free, subversive thinking. His digital abstract realms function as a recommendation on the equal importance of a multiplicity of interpretations. The complex and often labyrinthic compositions have an intense rhythm that captures our gaze. When confronted with one of Adatepe's work it becomes quickly evident that the piece is loaded with content and it may require long hours of looking to take in the full spectrum of each conception.” - Circle Foundation of the Arts, Director
