Claire Ibarra

"I strive to create images that are not just beautiful, but that also contain poetic and narrative elements."

Mojave Magic - Metal print 16 x 24 in.

American Photographer, Claire Ibarra lives in Boulder, Colorado and received her Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from Florida International University. She has always been drawn to storytelling as a means of exploring and illuminating the human condition. Her artistic life began with writing short stories, but Claire found herself moving toward poetry as she strove to distill narratives to their bare and essential essence. It seems that photography was the next logical step in that process.

Claire’s photographs have been published in many fine literary magazines and anthologies. Most recently, a photography series was featured in PANK Magazine. Claire was a finalist in the “Skies” Art Show by Grey Cube Gallery, and she participated in the “Finding the Light” Exhibit at the PhotoPlace Gallery.
