Hattie paints in oil, watercolour and acrylic. She paints landscapes, preferably. Her inspiration comes from nature, especially living in a natural environment. It is important to her that a person feels some emotion when seeing her artwork - a feeling of peace and contentment.

Hattie Barnard studied art at College in London and has been living on the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia since 2006. Hattie’s inspiration comes from nature, because of having lived part of her childhood years in the Caribbean. She exhibits in Saint Lucia at various resorts as well as participating in international exhibitions and competitions. Together, with her husband (a craftmaker), she owns the Choiseul Art Gallery in Saint Lucia.
Currently, Hattie has self-published two books; The Village by the Sea (2013), and Saint Lucia: an inspiration for art (2018). She also makes crafts and has been designing her own range of greetings cards - " Hattie's Cards," since 2004, which is featured in Saint Lucia’s online wedding catalogue Simply Beautiful Weddings.
Also, together with her husband, Hattie was featured in the Tropical Traveller magazine: Sept/Oct Vol 27 ( 2013). Hattie is featured in La Belle Helene magazine (Saint Lucia/USA 2018-2019), Aesthetica Magazine (UK) 2019, 2020) and Inside Artists (UK 2020). Her work is admired internationally by art professionals, art enthusiasts and collectors alike. She is a member of Fine Art America and the National Portrait Gallery, London.
