Invited to create poster art for the GREEN SEASON Virtual Exhibition in Iran

I am pleased and honored to be invited by Poster Iran Design in Iran to create poster art for the 2021 GREEN SEASON Virtual Exhibition in Iran.

2021 GREEN SEASON Virtual Exhibition & invitation information:

Nowruz is the Iranian New Year, also known as the Persian New Year, which is celebrated worldwide by various ethno-linguistic groups usually on or around March 21 on the Gregorian calendar. Nowruz has Iranian and Zoroastrian origins; however, it has been celebrated by diverse communities for over 3,000 years in Western Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Black Sea Basin, the Balkans, and South Asia. It is a secular holiday for most celebrants that is enjoyed by people of several different faiths, but remains a holy day for Zoroastrians, and some Muslim communities.

Nowruz is the day of the vernal equinox, and marks the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. It marks the first day of the first month (Farvardin) of the Iranian calendars. The moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator and equalizes night and day is calculated exactly every year, and families gather together to observe the rituals.

While Nowruz has been celebrated since the reform of the Iranian Calendar in the 11 th century CE to mark the new year, the United Nations officially recognized the “International Day of Nowruz” with the adoption of UN resolution 64/253 in 2010. The festival of Nowruz is celebrated by many groups of people in the Black Sea basin, the Balkans, the Caucasus, Western Asia, central and southern Asia, and by Iranians worldwide.

Now, with the approach of spring in Iran and the beginning of the solar new year in Iran, we invite you, designers around the world, to send us your ancient Iranian celebration of your works in the form of a poster design to combine this ancient celebration together. Let’s celebrate and share the joy of this celebration with you under this pretext.
