MAIZIANNE is a New York-based abstract and figurative artist painter, originally from Belgium. She first studied Art in New York City (Art Students League of NYC). In 2009, she enrolled at the Art League of Houston (Texas) then became a student of the Glassell School of Art. In 2011, she had her first solo exhibition. Since then, she has done various exhibitions, children's book illustration and CD covers. Inspired by pictures, she paints mainly abstract portraits and figures. She explores abstract backgrounds using texture, acrylics, and mixed media. Through her work, she tries mainly to capture a mood, an emotion, often reflecting her own life experiences and memories.
