Miguel A. Chávez was born in 1946 in the city of Córdoba, Argentina. Since 1966, he has participated in numerous expositions and contests for mural, pavement, and easel painting, both in and out of his home country.
In 1971, Miguel joined the permanent cast of the Studio Theatre of Cordoba as an actor and stage designer under the direction of the prestigious director Domingo Lo Giudice, starting a successful tour through Venezuela, Costa Rica, and Mexico. The cast continued their tour in 1972 through cities in the United States.
In February of 1972, Miguel moved to the city of Acapulco, GRO, Mexico, continuing his painting career. He taught drawing and painting to children at the FONAPAS Cultural Center of Acapulco.
After visiting several cities and states in Mexico, Miguel traveled to the United States and Canada. In July of 1975, from Mexico and by land, he began his journey back to Cordoba, Argentina, visiting the following countries along the way: Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Chile.
A prolific artist, Miguel’s paintings are located in private collections and institutions in several U.S. cities, such as New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego, and in countries including Mexico, Argentina, Japan, Germany, Spain, France, England, and Canada. He lives in San Diego, California and is an active member since 1982 of the House of Argentina (Member of the House of Pacific Relations), Balboa Park, San Diego, CA.
