Patrick Webb

"My painting for the last 28 years has explored the experiences of a contemporary version of the Commedia dell’Arte clown Punchinello. This figure, co-opted from a distant culture, has become the perfect vehicle for my exploration of the uncanny experience of difference and desire.”
