“My style is variable, but it is often strong and expressive with high feelings, emotions and is somehow spiritual. There are no exact borders in my art. My art is representative or pure abstract, which is typically not dependent upon time or place. I don't normally paint human-made things.”

Pertti Matikainen was born 1967 in Kerimäki and lives in Helsinki, Finland. A self-taught artist and painter, Matikainen has studied Bookkeeping and Automatic Data Processing and is employed as a Bookkeeper. With AFIAP, ECDL (European Computer Driving License), as an artist, Matikainen is a member of FIAP, GPU, Helsinki Camera Club, Itä-Helsinki's Taideseura (East Helsinki Art Club) and recently received a Certificate of Excellence for Artavita’s 2017 Contest. Matikainen is an author of the “Art Book? - A Book after Making Art” available through Amazon Kindle Shop. From 2003 to 2008 Pertti exhibited in numerous personal shows in Finland and group shows including at Colorida Gallery, Portugal in 2013, the East Helsinki Art Club in 2015, a 2016 exhibition at Stoa Gallery, Helsinki, Finland and the 2017 East Helsinki Art Club Finnish Mindscape in Villa Tomtebo, Helsinki, Finland.
