Favorite quote by the German Writer Ingeborg Bachmann: "Man can bear the truth or Die Wahrheit ist dem Menschen zumutbar."
“Painting, scribbling, and drawing is my way of commenting on the world and showing its magic. Particularly, I like to show humans in an abstract or more figurative way in unique and dreamlike moments of special beauty, challenge or confusion. People are presented in an abstract or more figurative way in unique and dreamlike moments of special beauty, challenge or confusion. Thus, it is not everyday reality I target but situations in a fictive space without time. The paintings don’t reveal the secrets of the human beings but show them in beauty or danger, in the past or present, freedom or bonds, in closeness or distance, in scary or well-known situations.
My technics are mostly acrylic and oil, mixed with pencils, ink, and shellac. In my paintings sometimes single words or broken lines appear without always being readable. I like to work with pencils and introduce language into my paintings. Writing, working with language, and drawing lines creates an order of its own and opens up a new level of structure and reflection.”
