"I work in oils and acrylics, often with a painting knife, mainly on landscapes inspired by my native Yorkshire or by my travels, especially in Europe, Japan and the USA. I paint in a loose impressionistic style, forever moving towards abstraction. I also paint portraits and sporting action."

"Time spent in Aix-en-Provence as a student introduced me to the works of Cézanne as I retraced his steps along the Chemin de Bibemus towards the Mont St. Victoire. Cézanne has remained an influence as has another French painter, Bernard Cathelin. I have been painting for the past 50 years and have exhibited widely in the U.K. and France. My paintings are in private collections as far afield as Japan and the United States. I have won several awards in the U.K. including Best Abstract at Derby Arts Festival and a prize at the Ferens Winter Exhibition in Hull. I am a member of East Riding Artists and chairman of Hornsea Art Society."
