Born in Ciudad Real, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain Ramón Rivas completed his university studies in Madrid, graduating as an Industrial Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and then continuing to earn his Master's degree in Sports Management and Administration from the University Olympic Institute (COE and Complutense University of Madrid). Rivas holds a European Diploma in Strategic Planning.
Inventor, articulist, national tennis coach, and creator of a pedagogical dance-tennis disc, Rivas also holds a Diploma in Graphic Design, Advertising Production and Professional Web Design. He has done management, advertising, event organization for major public and private companies.
Rivas is the creator of the Rivismo movement, a very personal and innovative way of expression in painting. His style is characterized by a mixed media technique and the works are normally large in format. Since 2005, Rivas' artworks have been in national and international exhibitions, art fairs, museums and universities and are part of the permanent exhibition XIX Art XXI Contemporary Art for Castilla-La Mancha (Spain). He was a Finalist at Florence-Shanghai Prize in 2012. He has presented his artwork in China, at Shanghai PuDong Library, at the CEIBS (China Europe International Business School in Shanghai, at the Wison Art Center and at the Global Harbor Shanghai. Rivas was the winner of the 2018 and 2019 American Art Awards (Futurism). Since 2019 he has work in the permanent exhibition of the European Art Museum in Denmark and the same year he exhibited in Manhattan.
