"I am an accidental immigrant, which puts you in a sort of limbo. My art reflects that. There is always some sort of mash-up; large shapes and tiny lines, blocks of color and specks of contrast, clean edges and smudges. It’s as though I am positive about some things but guessing at others."
Hailing from New Zealand and currently residing in Oregon, USA, Robin Kerr is an accomplished self-taught artist. In her earlier professional endeavors, Robin demonstrated her artistic prowess through digital illustrations for children's books and public awareness campaigns. However, she has since shifted her focus to the realm of mixed media abstract or abstracted-object painting.
Robin Kerr's artistic expression predominantly involves utilizing a combination of acrylic paint, fabric collage, wax pastel, ink, and graphite on canvas or wood panels, thus showcasing her versatility and creative range. Her exceptional body of work has garnered recognition through inclusion in esteemed juried shows, notable publications, and successful solo exhibits, along with the receipt of multiple esteemed awards.
