Roswitha Riedl

"I feel colors. And I bring color-feelings and color-thoughts on canvas. I make them visible and noticeable. Colors affect people and leave effects in rooms.

Everything is effective.
Always and everywhere.
Wittingly or unwittingly!"

Purple Traces, 2019 - Spatula technique, acrylic on wood, ink 70 x 100 x 0,5 cm

Austrian Artist, Roswitha Riedl was already intensively involved with colors in her childhood and made her first artistic experiences. She started as a self-taught artist because she did not find a mentor at her young age to deeply inspire her.

The intensive examination of colors and their effects supports them in international training in color therapy, color theory, color psychology and color interpretation.

"I constantly develop new ways of painting and deal with colors and materials." She has become more and more specialized in combining different techniques in layers.

"As I am painting, I am sinking into my inner worlds, communicate with my feelings, with the sides of sun and shadows of life, and then I am making them layer by layer on canvas."

Roswitha's works are a sensitive, authentic, artistic expression through colors that penetrate deeply into the viewer. She always preferred the focus for abstract, non-objective painting. The reason is to give way to thoughts and feelings for inner communication. Colors, shapes and pictures tell stories, arouse emotions and create feelings. This is the basis for the paintings by Roswitha Riedl. Most of the time she paints for her customers and their rooms.
