Sara Twomey

"Painting makes me feel connected to a process that encodes my thoughts, feelings and memories. Black Paint can reflect light in its most physical sense, light in the room is central to the painting, it is very much part of the painting. Each work is constantly changing with the light as its surface never sits still.
Black is an end point in colour, it is an absence of any colour, a void of black paint. The colour black feels spacious. The Silver paint seems to push and pull the light in and out of the surface of the painting. Almost carving light into a space."

Spaced Out - Oil on canvas 107 x 62 cm
