Carmen Rey

Carmen Rey is focused on developing her own approach to representing the figure. Her realistic figurative painting has evolved to a more intuitive work, in a variety of techniques and mediums, still having the single figure as the common thread.

Spanish painter, Carmen Rey began her education in art in 2014 with artist José Mª Caamaño and at  MEAM, Modern Art European Museum where she assisted in Life Drawing and Figure Painting courses, as part of the Painter's Career program. Since 2017, Rey has continued to grow and develop her skills in intensive workshops for oil portraiture, cityscape, illustration etc., with teachers such as Joshua LaRock, Jacob Dhein, Jafet Blanch, Irene Cuadrado, Ismael Fuentes, Felipe Alonso, Paco Lafarga and other wonderful artists. Carmen's work has been exhibited in group and solo shows and has been selected in national and international contests.
