It’s important that artists focus on lies, hypocrisy, wrong-headed conspiracy theories and tribalism (to name a few), and the dangers they pose for a democracy, both in the U.S. and internationally.

Utilizing conceptual art during a social crisis is a powerful tool to expose those who divide rather than unite, those who spread “alternative facts” rather than actual truth and those who propagate bone-headed theories and rumors rather than relying on science. The latter is especially important when it comes to our environment and the global pandemic, as we’ve witnessed repeatedly.
