"Art is a way of revealing your thoughts to a wider group of audience. Events that happen around me and in the world inspire me to paint and I try to represent them through my paintings. I love to paint portraits and try to capture various feelings, emotions. I try to tell a story with each painting."
Doctor by profession, painter by passion, that’s Vamsi Doddapaneni in a nutshell. Born in 1976 in India, Vamsi has been passionate about painting since childhood, but gave up his passion after joining college to study Medicine. His passion was rediscovered two years ago, when he began to seriously paint again. With no formal training in fine art, he is a self-taught painter.
"Art is not what you see, but what you make others see." These famous words by Edgar Degas have inspired Vamsi and are the foundation of his practice. Energy, movement of the animate and inanimate things in our vast universe inspire him and provide an integral part of his compositions. Working primarily in acrylic, his contemporary works have won several awards, both national and international.
