"For me, painting or creating art in general means that I get to be exactly who I am and have no expectations other than my own to achieve as I work. Many of my pieces are conceptually based and free from confinements set by extroverted society. Freely communicating through art is key for my practice."
Victoria McBride is a multimedia creator based in the USA who primarily works with acrylics. From the age of eight, she knew the world of art was where she belonged. She participated in various fields of study during her time in college spanning across art and design fields, languages, anatomy, and finance halting just shy of a bachelor’s degree to join the workforce. Highly dissatisfied with the experience it offered across the span of a decade, she pursued her neglected craft of being an artist. A few artists in history that have influenced her at this stage in her career include Georgia O’Keeffe, Frida Kahlo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Gerhard Richter. She places onto the canvas the concepts she visualizes in her mind influenced by music, intuition, mood, possessions, and the unattainables of being. The most important message she hopes to convey utilizing visual arts is to not be afraid to explore who you are, to take the chance, and to expand your portfolio. Her last publication was in Las Laguna Art Gallery - Online + Gallery Exhibition - Purley Abstract Art Show from May 6th - 29th 2021.
